Complete Renovation/ Remodeling
This stunning home in Newtown, PA underwent a major outdoor living transformation, centered around an elevated covered deck with a vaulted cedar ceiling, custom stonework, and integrated lighting. The design extended into multiple levels, including an open lower patio, natural wood staircase, and a spacious lounging and dining area—ideal for seamless indoor-outdoor entertaining. Every detail, from the tongue-and-groove ceiling to the iron railing system, was selected to complement the home’s architecture while delivering long-term durability and charm.
The Challenger
The original outdoor space was underutilized, with aging materials and no weather protection. The homeowners wanted to take full advantage of their wooded lot, but needed a design that balanced shade, airflow, and year-round usability. Integrating the new structure into the existing brick exterior and managing drainage and elevation changes added complexity to both the engineering and permitting process.
The Result
The completed project is a multi-functional, resort-style escape that feels like a natural extension of the home. The elevated deck offers a covered retreat for dining or relaxing, while the lower patio and extended hardscaping allow for flexible entertaining.
