The Project
An unfinished concrete box transformed into a family entertainment floor.
The family had 1,100 square feet of unfinished basement that was serving only as storage. Their vision: a full entertainment floor with a home theatre, wet bar, guest suite, and a playroom the kids could eventually grow out of.
The structural inspection revealed a low point of 7'4" — workable with careful material selection. We lowered the concrete slab by 4 inches in the bar and theatre zones to reach 8'0" clear height, providing the volume the space needed to feel intentional rather than improvised.
The project was completed in 10 weeks. The guest suite now accommodates visiting family comfortably, and the home theatre is the centrepiece of Friday nights.

- 120" screen, 4K projection, and acoustic panels concealed behind fabric wall panels
- Custom bar with Dekton waterfall countertop, two Sub-Zero UC fridge, scotsman ice maker
- Guest suite with 3/4 bath, walk-in closet, and separate mechanical closet
- Built-in playroom storage wall with chalkboard panel and reading nook
- New egress window installed meeting NJ code requirements
