Who we are

A design-build remodeling company

The Home X designs and builds kitchens, bathrooms and additions. We work in Princeton and the towns around it in New Jersey, and across the river in Bucks County, Pennsylvania.

The company is owned by Ryan McNee. When you hire us, you deal with one company from the first call to the warranty.

Ryan’s degree is in finance and accounting, and it shows in the paperwork: a written scope before you sign, a written change order for any change, and the warranty in your contract.

How we work

What your job comes with

  • A crew we manage does the work; plumbing, electrical and HVAC work goes to subcontractors in those trades, and other specialty trades when a job needs them. We manage those subcontractors and stand behind their work.
  • A written scope before you sign: what we’re doing, what we’re not, the materials and allowances, and the price.
  • Written change orders. If something changes, you get the price in writing and sign it before that work starts.
  • A 1-year workmanship warranty on our installation, in your contract.
  • General liability insurance with Berkshire Hathaway Direct Insurance Company (biBERK). Certificate available on request.
  • We’re a registered home improvement contractor in New Jersey, NJ HIC #13VH13547600, and Pennsylvania, PA HIC #PA199109.
